Our Veterinarian
Karen Heinzerling, DVM
I am proud to call myself a Buckeye and to call central Ohio my home. I was born and raised in Columbus, attended The Ohio State University and received my Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 1994 and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. I stayed in Columbus to practice small animal general medicine and raise my family.
Throughout my years in veterinary medicine it has been my honor to help guide, support, and comfort many families as they navigate end of life decisions for their beloved pets. I have had the privilege to provide euthanasia to animals to help relieve pain, potential suffering from disease and injury, and to assist them in a peaceful, comfortable, and controlled death when their quality of life had diminished beyond repair. I continue to feel honored to be able to care for both families and their pets on this final journey.
In my free time I enjoy my home with as many pets as I can sneak in, my 3 teenagers, and my husband. We keep busy with sports, friends and family, and exploring new places when we get the opportunity.
